Findlay and Hancock County are included in a Heat Advisory issued by the National Weather Service.
The Heat Advisory goes through Tuesday night.
Dangerously hot conditions are occurring with heat index values above 100.
Health officials point out that consecutive days of excessive heat and humidity combined with little relief overnight due to very warm low temperatures can be especially hazardous.
People are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Putnam County and other counties to the west are under an Extreme Heat Warning.
The hot conditions will likely continue into Wednesday and beyond.

Demolition of the portion of the Findlay Mall where the new Target store will be located has begun.
The demolition is not yet visible from Tiffin Avenue because it has begun on the back side of the mall.
Crews began working on the inside a few weeks ago and now the work is visible from the back side of the mall.
188,000 square feet of the existing mall is being torn down to make way for a 131,809-square-foot Target store in what was the middle section of the mall. (see the picture below)
The demolition will create separation from Dunham’s, Michael’s, and Tokyo Steakhouse to the west, leaving room for a 24-foot drive and additional parking spots on the west side.
The newly open space in the front will allow to keep a consistent drive along the front of the Target, lining up with the Runnings store.
No timeline was given on how long the demolition of the mall or construction of the Target store will take.
In March it was announced that Target finalized a purchase-sale agreement with Findlay Mall owner and developer Rocky Companies.

(From the American Red Cross of North Central Ohio)
The American Red Cross of North Central Ohio is looking for volunteers to serve coffee and conversation to local veterans with the launch of a Coffee Cart service at the new VA Outpatient Clinic in Findlay.
Todd James, Executive Director of the North Central Ohio Chapter, says the Coffee Cart is a way to show appreciation and support to veterans, one of many programs the Red Cross offers to the military and military families. “A cup of coffee may not seem like much, but when it’s served with a smile and a thank you, it means a lot,” said James. Volunteers are needed to work four-hour shifts, 8:00 a.m. – Noon, at the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, 1720 E. Melrose Ave. in Findlay. “This coffee cart is just one of many ways we support our local veterans and military families,” said James. “We offer many community-based resiliency programs to support service members, veterans, and military families.”
James says the coffee cart is scheduled to open next month. Volunteers need to be able to lift at least 20 pounds, bend over and stand for up to four hours. Volunteers will be provided with a Red Cross vest to wear during their shift. For more information, contact James at todd.james@redcross.org or (419) 422-9322.
