Crash On I-75 Slowing Traffic North Of Findlay

1/23/19 – 9:10 A.M.
Update – 9:40 A.M.

A crash in the northbound lanes of I-75 about a mile north of the County Road 99 interchange backed up traffic north of Findlay this morning.

The State Highway Patrol says all lanes are open again following a crash that happened just after 7 a.m. Traffic was backed up in that area for around two hours.

The Patrol says no one was injured in the crash. We’ll have more details as they become available.

Accident Claims The Life Of Local Teen

10/12/18 – 4:10 P.M.

A tragic accident claimed the life of a Riverdale student Friday morning. Riverdale Local Schools reports that senior Katelyn Martin suffered serious injuries in a crash in Wharton. She died as a result. The school district received support from members of the West Ohio Critical Stress Management Team to help guidance counselors serve students through their grief. They will be available next week as well.

As a result of the crash, the football game tonight has been postponed to tomorrow. The boys’ soccer game at Ottovile has been canceled.

There are no details available about the crash.

Marathon President Talks More About Merger With Andeavor

Marathon Petroleum Corporation President Don Templin spoke more about the company’s merger with Andeavor today. Templin says the companies are still sorting out the final details on how the combined company will look…

Templin said it was too early to speculate on if Andeavor employees would get transferred to Findlay.

Templin also talked about the future business outlook for Marathon. He said the merger puts the company in a good position to be a global competitor. Templin added that the demand for petroleum remains high, and more exports are possible in the future.

The deal will give Marathon a nationwide footprint…

Templin says after the merger completes, Marathon will grow from 1.9 billion barrels of crude capacity to 3 billion. It also means Marathon will have 16 total plants. Andeavor’s midstream business will increase Marathon’s pipeline mileage by around 50 percent. Marathon is also growing its number of terminals by around 30 percent.

The deal will increase the number of Marathon-branded gas stations to around 8,000. That’s up from the current 5,600 Marathon gas stations. The number of Speedway stations will grow from 2,800 to 4,000 stores.

Templin spoke at the Findlay Rotary Club this afternoon.

Ada Man Charged With 20 Counts Of Rape

An Ada man is facing more than 123 sex-crime related charges. WKTN radio reports authorities have charged Albert Mast Sr. with 20 counts of rape and 68 counts of gross sexual imposition. He also faces 20 counts of sexual battery and 15 counts of sexual imposition.

A judge set bond in the case at $150,000.
