Wags And Walks Event Promoting Exercise, Pet Adoption In Findlay And Hancock County

I guess you could say Findlay Mayor Christina Muryn’s Move With The Mayor initiative has really gone to the dogs.

The mayor is inviting people to the Wags and Walks event at Emory Adams Park on Wednesday, October 2nd from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

In an effort to promote heart-healthy activity and pet rescue in Findlay and Hancock County, people are invited to take an evening stroll around the park with a local shelter dog from the Humane Society & SPCA of Hancock County.

All ages are welcome to walk, play, and possibly meet their next furry family member.

The walk will take place on the east side of the park, across the footbridge.

This event is part of the Move With The Mayor initiative.

The city says…

The Surgeon General has issued a Call to Action to Promote Walking and Walkable Communities to combat heart disease, stroke and other chronic diseases. Walking 30 minutes a day can reduce a person’s risk for heart disease by 40%. Half of U.S. adults have a chronic illness such as heart disease or stroke.

Move with the Mayor is an initiative of National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention. Move with the Mayor promotes active lifestyles and strengthens a healthy culture change in our City.
