The Liberty Benton school district will build a new pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade facility. Voters in the district approved a 35-year property tax includes that 6.8 mills for construction and another half-mill for continued maintenance of the new building.
Superintendent Mark Kowalski says communication was the key to passing the issue this time around…

66 percent of the ballots cast were in favor of the levy. The issue also pays for renovations at the high school and a new auditorium.
Kowalski believes they’ll start the planning process for a new building in the early fall.
