The Liberty-Benton School District is asking voters to approve a building levy this spring. The 7.3-mill measure would pay for a new pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade building, mechanical renovations at the high school, and a new 800-seat auditorium. Kowalski says the actual tax impact for residents is 5.5-mills because the bond for the high school ends this year. He adds that they decided to pursue the levy as a property tax issue after finding they had a higher success rate locally and across the state.
