Putnam County is moving recycling operations to a larger building. The Lima News reports recycling center supervisor Joe Hohlbein updated the county commissioners on operations Thursday. Holbein says they are moving to a larger processing building at the county fairgrounds. Recycling drop off locations are not changing.
Currently, the county has to take recycling containers six miles out of Ottawa to dump them in an open top container. After that, they bring the container back to the Ag Annex building. With the new location, trucks will dump recycling materials directly in the building.
The county is also hiring two full-time employees to help with the effort.
