Officials from the Liberty-Benton school district gave a presentation about future building options Tuesday night. The options presented included renovating and adding on to the current elementary and middle school buildings and renovating the high school or building a new pre-K through 8th-grade school and renovating the high school. They also include building a new pre-K through 5th-grade school and adding onto and renovating the high school to make it 6th-grade through 12th-grade facility, or renovating and adding onto the current high school to make it pre-K through 12th-grade.
The school district’s share of each plan ranges from $18.7 to $19.9 million. They also talked about doing nothing, saying the maintenance costs would total between $13.9 and $18.1 million.
The school is giving another presentation Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Benton Ridge council hall. The following day the district will post an online survey for residents to answer. They’ll also have paper copies at all offices in the district.
