Pandora village council is once again debating over a potential Dollar General coming to town. The Putnam County Sentinel reports the item came up again at a recent council meeting. Mayor John Schlumbohm says Dollar General wants to move forward with a deal approved back in 2012.
Schlumbohm says the council approved selling land in the industrial park to the company six years ago. However Dollar General decided not to build at the time. The mayor says the company wants to revisit the plan now.
Several council members questioned the impact Dollar General would have on small businesses in the community. Dollar General already operates in six other Putnam County communities.
