Local business leaders stopped at Millstream Cafe to learn about issues affecting employment laws. James Yates from Eastman and Smith explained that the biggest topic right now is marijuana.
Yates said that employers need to be aware of their drug policies.
Yates explained that Ohio law will allow businesses to not employ people based on marijuana use, even with a doctor’s card. He urged adding a clarifying statement to applications that spell out a drug free work place.
