Fire Destroys Two Buildings In Downtown Leipsic

10/23/18 – 5:02 A.M.

Fire destroyed two buildings in downtown Leipsic Monday afternoon. Firefighters responded to 202 East Main Street just after noon after receiving reports about smoke coming from the unoccupied buildings. Leipsic Fire Chief Neil Goodwin says the buildings were being used for storage.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating, but it doesn’t appear the fires are suspicious. So far there is no damage estimate.

Firefighters were able to save to adjoining buildings. Two apartments in the neighboring buildings suffered water damage. The blaze displaced one family.
