Ottawa officials dedicated a new public space in downtown over the weekend. The village held a ribbon cutting for the Rex Center, a new pavilion and green space at the corner of Main and Oak streets. WLIO-TV reports the center gives the community a place to enjoy arts and local events. The ground can also absorb flood water without causing runoff into the Blanchard River.

Mayor Dean Meyer tells the TV station that he believes the center is “eye-catching” and will draw people to Ottawa for events.
