The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says a man who had warrants for his arrest led deputies on a miles-long high-speed chase.
Deputies attempted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation on State Route 15 near Road E in Monroe Township at 11:06 Thursday night.
The sheriff’s office said the vehicle, being driven by Brandon Clayton, 22, of Clarksville, Virginia, attempted to flee from deputies and a pursuit ensued, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
The pursuit entered Defiance County and then Henry County where the vehicle eventually crashed near Road 15.
The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office on a count of felony failure to comply.
The sheriff’s office said the driver also had warrants for his arrest from the U.S. Marshals Service.
No one was injured during the pursuit that spanned approximately 24 miles.
