(From the Hancock County Democratic Party)
A full-house of attendees gathered together Friday, December 6th, 2024 at The Social for a community-building dinner hosted by the Hancock County Democratic Party and catered by the Black Deacon Barbecue.
Opening remarks were delivered by county party chairwoman Eve Gray, who also thanked volunteers for their efforts over the past year. Those who ran for office were recognized, as well as those who canvassed, wrote postcards, made phone calls, worked the polls, registered voters, and assisted with the County Fair, Halloween parade, and booth events.
Over 200 charitable items were collected at or before the dinner to help newcomers within our community including clothing, blankets, health and beauty products, paper products, laundry detergent, gift cards, baby products and so much more.
Vice President Harris’s concession speech was shared and attendees were encouraged to get involved, noting local candidates are currently being recruited for school board, village and city council, and township trustee races.
The Democratic Party’s next meeting is Monday, January 13 at 6:30p at the Findlay Hancock Library’s Lindamond Room. This is a time and location change only for the month of January, as all other meetings in 2025 are the second Monday of the month at 7pm at the Hancock Historical Museum.
