4th Of July Parade Held In Findlay

A lot of people lined Main Street in Findlay for the city’s 4th of July Parade on Tuesday morning.

The weather was perfect and people were treated to a parade full of floats and also including the Findlay Trojan Marching Band.

After the parade, a lot of people attended the Hancock Historical Museum’s Ice Cream Social.

Police: Person Accidentally Shot During Cleaning Of Gun

The Findlay Police Department says a person was accidentally shot as a man was cleaning a gun.

The incident happened at 1472 Timberwood Drive on Monday afternoon, according to police.

Police say Robert Sipe, 45, was cleaning a rifle that had not been cleared, and as the trigger was pulled back during the cleaning process a single round was discharged.

The round struck a woman who was helping clean the rifle, and she was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for the wound to her abdomen.

Police described her injuries as not life-threatening.

Police say charges of discharging a firearm within city limits will be forwarded to the city prosecutor at the conclusion of the investigation.
