FHCPL’s Latest Supply Of COVID Test Kits Goes Quickly

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library’s latest supply of COVID testing kits didn’t last long.

The library posted on their Facebook page on Thursday that the test kits were back in stock, and then hours later posted that the kits were all gone.

The library said it’s unsure when its next shipment of kits will arrive.

Joel Mantey, adult services manager for the library, recommends that people call ahead to make sure they have kits available, and if you’re symptomatic, request curbside service and they’ll bring them out to you.

To request a kit, stop by the reference desk or ask for one through the curbside service by calling 419-422-1712.

The library started making the at-home testing kits available to the public in early March.

Kotalo and four people in the car he struck were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

The sheriff’s office says it issued Kotalo a citation for failing to stop at the stop sign.

Driver Arrested After Short Police Pursuit In Findlay

The Findlay Police Department says it took a man into custody after a short pursuit down residential streets.

Police say they tried to pull over Jesus Gallegos Jr., 24, in the 700 block of West Street at around 3:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day on Saturday.

The police department didn’t specify why they were attempting to pull him over.

Police say Gallegos led officers on a less than one mile pursuit at speeds around 70 miles per hour on South Main Street that ended when Gallegos stopped in the 800 block of Maple Avenue.

Police say Gallegos was taken into custody for fleeing and eluding and also had an active warrant through Findlay Municipal Court.

No one was injured during the pursuit.
