Thursday Night Road Opener For Ohio State Football?

The 2021 Ohio State Football season opener against the Minnesota Golden Gophers could happen on a Thursday night.

The University of Minnesota has released a tentative schedule for 2021 on their website with the game at TCF Bank Stadium moved up two days from Saturday, September 4th to Thursday, September 2nd.

The change makes sense for Minnesota, who has started every season since 2013 on a Thursday night.

Ohio State opened the 2017 on a Thursday night when they played at Indiana.

The Buckeyes will open the 2020 season at home against Bowling Green on Saturday, September 5th.

The Gophers will host Bowling Green on Saturday, September 25th, 2021.

 

 

Carey Man Facing Vehicular Homicide, OVI Charges

A man is facing charges in connection with an incident last May that left one person dead and another injured.

Aaron J. Luzader, 42, of Carey, is charged with vehicular homicide and OVI in Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court.

On May 17th, 2019, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that Luzader pulled out from a driveway onto Seneca County Road 59 and when he accelerated three people were ejected from the bed of the truck.

47-year-old Anthony Luzader died at the scene of the crash.

A medical helicopter took 22-year-old Nathanyal Griffin to a Toledo hospital.

19-year-old Cody Luzader of Carey wasn’t hurt.

According to court records, Aaron Luzader’s blood alcohol content was 0.165.

Arraignment is scheduled for January 27th at 9 a.m.

Ohio Lawmaker Behind Gun Control Bill Finds Threatening Messages In Mailbox

(ONN) – An Ohio state representative who has proposed gun restrictions says he found several threatening memes printed out and placed in his mailbox.

Rep. Casey Weinstein is a Democrat from Hudson.

He says he has received many angry messages since sponsoring a bill that would prohibit people from possessing a large capacity magazine for a firearm.

Weinstein says his proposal was in response to the Dayton shooting in August that killed nine people.

He says that the memes he found in his mailbox were mostly anti-Democrat and that some were threatening.

Findlay Gas Station Robbed At Knifepoint

A Findlay gas station was robbed by a suspect with a knife.

The Findlay Police Department says it happened at about 5:20 Wednesday morning at the S&G gas station at 800 West Trenton Avenue.

Police say a man entered the gas station, walked straight up to the cash register, around the counter and pulled out a long knife.

He told the clerk to open the register and she complied.

The suspect grabbed some cash and left the store on foot heading north.

The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white man, standing about five feet ten inches tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a black ski mask, a green and black flannel jacket, jeans and black gloves.

The clerk said the suspect appeared to have wrinkles around his eyes.

Police officers checked the area but the suspect was not located.

Findlay Autism Team Collecting Money For Sensory Kits For Emergency Responders

The Findlay City Schools Autism Team is putting together sensory kits to put in emergency responders’ vehicles.

FCS Occupational Therapist Trisha Klausing said the project started for just the Findlay Fire and Police Departments but the project has grown due to overwhelming support from the community.

Klausing explained that these sensory kits will help children with autism going through tough situations.

It will have calming tools and cards that will allow them to better communicate how they are feeling and what is going on.

Four Vehicle Crash On I-75 Sends Three People To The Hospital

Three people were injured in a 4-vehicle crash on I-75 south of Beaverdam yesterday evening.

The Ohio State highway Patrol Lima Post reports 37-year Chris Conley of Flint, Michigan was approaching stopped traffic due to a separate crash around 5:50 pm.

Troopers say Conley rear-ended 69-year-old Steven Frueh of Lima who was pushed into 27-year-old Zachary Gonder’s vehicle, who is also from Lima.

Gonder was pushed into 63-year-old Robert DeSota Jr of Bluffton.

Frueh, Robert DeSota, and 37-year-old Amanda DeSota were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Conley, Gonder, and a 2-year-old in DeSota’s vehicle were uninjured in the accident.

Cooper Tire Earns Top Score On Equality Index

Cooper Tire has received a 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index.

Portion Of Interstate 75 Rest Area Closing For Repairs

The indoor facilities at a rest area along Interstate 75 won’t be available as it undergoes repairs.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says people won’t be able to access the indoor facilites at the I-75 southbound roadside rest area south of Findlay for approximately three days beginning on Tuesday.

ODOT says planned maintenance work will be performed.

Portable restrooms will be available.

OSU Punter Sets World Record, Raises Money For Wildfire Relief

Ohio State punter Drue Chrisman is the new World Record holder for bottle flipping in a 24-hour period.

Chrisman posted on his Twitter, thanking those who donated while watching him flip a water bottle over and over on a YouTube live stream for 24 consecutive hours.

Chrisman started the live stream bottle flipping event as a way to collect online donations to help support the World Wildlife Fund’s bushfire relief efforts and raised more than $14,000.

Officials estimate more than 1 billion animals have perished in the wildfires that have devastated huge areas of the Australian continent.

Woman Injured In House Fire In Findlay

A woman suffered some burns when a fire started in her Findlay home on Monday.

Firefighters responded to 735 Frazer Street at around 9:45 Monday morning on the report of a fire.

The fire department quickly put out the kitchen fire and prevented it from spreading.

A woman in the house suffered some superficial burns and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
