People lined the streets of Dayton on Tuesday to honor a detective who was killed in the line of duty.
The funeral procession for Jorge Del Rio followed a packed service at the University of Dayton Arena.
Officers from the Findlay Police Department attended the funeral and posted the following on their Facebook page.
This afternoon officers from the Findlay Police Department attended the funeral for Dayton Police Detective Jorge DelRio who was fatally wounded during a narcotics search warrant last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with Detective DelRio’s family and brothers and sisters in blue at DPD.
The service for the fallen officer ended with a 21-gun salute. Del Rio was shot twice while trying to serve a search warrant.
Three men charged in connection with his death are due in court next week. A GoFundMe page has been set up for Del Rio’s family.
