A Wharton man is facing charges following an incident late last week in Arlington. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office says 42-year-old Jeremy Saldana tried to hurt a Sandusky woman by ramming the pickup truck they were in into a parked car in the village Thursday night.
Investigators say the woman was sitting in a truck with Saldana when he started driving at a high rate of speed on Main Street. She tried to jump from the truck but got her foot caught between the door and door frame. The woman says Saldana told her he was going to crash on purpose before hitting the parked car. The impact of the collision threw the victim from the truck, causing several broken bones.
Saldana faces an aggravated vehicular assault charge. Deputies also cited him for refusing to take an OVI test, a marked lanes violation, driving with an expired registration, and reckless operation.
