Candida Auris is a multi-drug resistant fungus that’s made national headlines. Hancock Public Health’s Chad Masters explained that the fungus has been around for years but that it isn’t something we typically see in everyday life.
Masters added that there aren’t any cases in Ohio. There are some in New York and New Jersey but that it is manageable. Masters said that as long as hospitals and doctors offices stick to proper handwashing and disinfecting regiments, then everything will be fine.
