Putnam County Auditor Robert Benroth is getting ready to start a fourth term. The Lima News reports Judge Keith Schierloh swore in Benroth during a Thursday ceremony. Benroth has served in the office for 10 years.
His term will start on March 11.

Another suspect in a Findlay robbery has taken a plea deal. 20-year-old Tyrone Taylor of Tiffin pleaded guilty to a robbery charge Thursday. The Hancock County grand jury originally indicted him on an aggravated robbery charge with a firearms specification.
Investigators say Taylor and three others took a pair of Nike Air Jordan shoes and marijuana from someone behind the Dominos Pizza location on North Main Street last July.
Taylor’s sentencing hearing is set for May 9th.

A Findlay businessman has pleaded guilty to several charges stemming from a rape investigation. 39-year-old Michael Lewis appeared in court Thursday. The owner of Partitions Plus pleaded guilty to counts of aggravated burglary, assault, and abduction.
The indictment in the case accused Lewis of trespassing in a Findlay woman’s home and forcing her to engage in sexual activity. The victim agreed to prosecutors dropping a rape charge. She also agreed to the prosecution changing a kidnapping charge to a count of abduction.
The victim plans to speak at the sentencing hearing on May 23.

A new medical marijuana clinic is scheduled to open this weekend in Bowling Green. Omni Medical Services will open tomorrow on Pearl Street. A doctor at the clinic will examine and treat patients suffering from more than 20 chronic health issues and certify them for marijuana use. Plans are in the works for a marijuana dispensary less than two miles away.

Seneca County officials are preparing to deny a permit to a Fostoria landfill. The Seneca County General Health District voted last night to begin the license denial process for the Sunny Farms landfill. Residents have complained about the smell of rotten eggs at the landfill and blame out-of-state construction waste for the problem. More hearings will be scheduled before a final decision is made.
