Putnam County is going to launch a peer-to-peer counseling system for people in recovery from opioid addiction. The Putnam County Sentinel reports the county ADAMHS board has received a state grant to help launch the program.
People struggling with opioid addiction will get coaching from people who have gone through the process. The mentors will also make sure the person they are partnered with is showing up for appointments.
The ADAMHS Board is still working to finish details of the program.
