11/26/18 – 5:30 P.M.
A film starring a Findlay veteran and his service dog will get its debut at the University of Findlay tomorrow. “A New Leash on Life: The K9s for Warriors Story” follows Louis Belluomini and two others and tells how they got service dogs through the Florida-based K9’s for Warriors agency. It has been nominated for four Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards.
Belluomini is a full-time medic with the Putnam County Office of Public Safety and works part-time for Hanco EMS. His service dog, Star, rides with him and is believed to be the only service dog riding on an ambulance in the nation.
The free screening will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Winebrenner Theological Seminary’s TLB Auditorium. Belluomini will speak at 6:30 and plans to answer questions after the film.
You can read more about Belluomini’s story and the film itself on The Courier’s Website.
