Hancock County voters turned out for a midterm election at the highest rate since 2006. More than 54 percent of registered ballots cast ballots Tuesday. That’s just short of the turnout 12 years ago, which saw a 57 percent voter turnout.
Four years ago only 39 percent of registered voters went to the polls. That was a decrease from 45 percent in 2010.
