After months of campaigning, election day is finally here. The polls are open in Ohio until 7:30 p.m. In our area we’ll see a few school levies. Voters in Findlay will see a proposed 1.5-mill safety and security levy for Findlay City Schools on the ballot. Vanlue voters will see a request for a substitute 6-mill continuing tax for operations on the ballot. The Van Buren School District is asking voters to pass a renewal of a 6-mill tax that funds both operations and permanent improvements.
Statewide, all eyes on the on the gubernatorial race between Republican Mike DeWine and Democrat Richard Cordray. Voters across the state are also casting ballots on State Issue 1, which would change Ohio sentencing laws for some drug violations.
