Russell Adkins is officially free of charges stemming from a 36-year-old murder. The Ohio Supreme Court declined to hear the state’s appeal of a lower court’s acquittal yesterday, meaning Adkins can’t be retried for Dana Rosendale’s death. Adkins was convicted of murder by a Wood County jury in 2016, but a state appeals court overturned the verdict earlier this year.
