Arlington officials are getting frustrated with truck drivers ignoring detours around the village. The Main Street repair project has U.S 68 closed in town for the time being. Village council members talked about ways to keep drivers from using small side streets during Monday’s council meeting.
It’s possible the village could enter into a short-term agreement with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office to increase patrols in the area. However, Councilman Terry Huffman says he’s not interested in an agreement with the sheriff’s office.
Council members also heard a suggestion to consider adding more signs near the village limits.
