The State Highway Patrol will take part in a multi-state enforcement blitz next week. The agency says troopers will focus on “Move Over” laws Sunday through Saturday. Ohio law requires you to move to the other side of the road when you see an emergency vehicle with its lights on along the side of the road. If you can’t get over, you should slow down and drive with caution.
Between 2013 and 2017, there were more than 50 crashes involving State Patrol cruisers and drivers who didn’t move over. Those crashes killed two civilians and injured 34 others as well as 24 troopers.
