Residents in the Findlay City School district could see a levy on the ballot in November. The school board will meet next Thursday morning to talk about putting a school security levy in front of voters.
Superintendent Ed Kurt says the levy would cover several areas. It would allow the district to share the cost of security officers with the city of Findlay. It would also pay for clinical counselors who could recommend outside services to kids who need them. The school would also like to allow the police department to view security cameras from their buildings in real time.
Kurt says they decided to focus on these areas following a school security public forum in March. The board meets at 7:30 a.m. next Thursday at the administration building to discuss the matter.
