Carey is getting a state grant to replace a sanitary lift station on South Vance Street. The State Public Works Commission awarded the village around $226,000 for the project. The project will cost an estimated $367,000. The village will pay the remainder of the costs.

The village had been waiting for the result of the grant before moving forward with the project.
