The Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation has given some area fire departments grants for new equipment. The grants help buy safety gear, exhaust systems, and specialized washing machines.

Leipsic is getting nearly $6,000 to buy an extractor with a base. Hamler in Henry County is getting more than $12,000 to buy 24 hoods with barrier protection and 24 washable gloves.

Bowling Green and Bloomdale in Wood County also received money from the grant program.
