Blanchard Valley Industries is getting ready to open a new facility this year. The nonprofit employer of adults with developmental disabilities is moving into a new production warehouse this month. The Courier reports the work BVI does in a warehouse on the Blanchard Valley Center campus is moving to County Road 99 on March 19. The new facility is much closer to the businesses BVI supports.
The move is also spurred by changes in the law. Blanchard Valley Industries had to split off the BVC campus to continue to receive Medicaid funding.
Another arm of BVI, the Kan Du Studio, moved to West Main Cross Street last year. It is in the former Rocking U Pizza location last February. Around 25 adults work at the studio.
