I-75 will be reduced to one lane so crews can paint on pavement markings. ODOT reports that the work is taking place in the southbound lanes between Sandusky and Harrison Streets. The Restriction starts at 9 p.m. tonight and will last until about midnight.

There will be several Easter egg themed events happening in the Findlay area this weekend. You can join the YMCA on Saturday for a free Easter Egg Hunt at Riverside Park. The hunt starts at 9 a.m. at Shelter House 22.
The Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation is also offering an egg hunt from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. It will be at their location on County Road 99 and entry cost $1 for kids and $2 for adults. The tickets include a train ride.

The AARP Fraud Watch Network wants to remind you to be safe and not fall for any scams this year. Head of the network Kathy Stokes was on WFIN and said that most people don’t think they can fall victim.
Stokes said that scammers try to get you to have an emotional reaction out of fear. This increases the chance that they can trick you.
She added that you can avoid becoming a victim by knowing the do’s and don’t’s of the IRS. They will contact you through the mail and not call you on the phone. They also won’t accept payment through a credit card or gift cards through the phone.

Birchaven Village is hosting an educational series on Tuesdays starting next week. Marketing Coordinator Amy Laibe said that this second round of “Talk About it Tuesdays” series was decided by former participants.
She added that it is meant for active seniors and topics include things like Medicare, health, and elder law. The series will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Hatfield Dining Room at Birchaven Village.

The United Way of Hancock County recently honored two volunteers. The agency picked Karen Jones and William Doyle as this year’s Jeri Bjorling Memorial Distinguished Volunteer Award winners.
Jones has served as a board member for United Way of Hancock County, Century Health, and the Blanchard Valley Health Foundation among others. She’s also been a Cub Scout den leader, solicitor for the American Cancer Society, and co-chairman for a local St. Jude’s Bike-A-Thon.
Doyle has served on various United Way boards, including the Halt Hunger Initiative advisory board. He has also served as a board member for the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, Habitat for Humanity, and a United Way health panel liaison for Cancer Patient Services.

Bluffton University is offering a path for some students to earn a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education in four years. The university says the 3+1 Educator Preparation Program allows early childhood education majors to earn their teaching license and complete their bachelor’s degree in three years. They would then start in the master of arts in education in their fourth year.
The program is also available for intervention specialist majors.
Eligible students must meet certain GPA and test score requirements.

Putnam County homeowners could get funds to make critical home repairs. The Putnam County Sentinel reports Community Housing Improvement Program, or CHIP funds are now available. Ashley Siefker manages grants for the county. She tells the newspaper this year’s funds are the most the agency has ever had.
Eligible homeowners can use CHIP funds for emergency home repairs and to update things like plumbing and electrical systems. For more information call (419)523-3656.

The former financial secretary for the union at Findlay’s Cooper Tire & Rubber plant has pleaded guilty to an embezzlement charge. Ronald Coldren pleaded guilty when he appeared in the U.S. District Court in Toledo on Wednesday. His sentencing hearing is set for July 18.
Investigators say Coldren embezzled more than $30,000 from the USW Local 207-L between April of 2012 and January of 2016. He resigned in early 2016 after the union learned about questionable credit card charges made by Coldren.

Hancock Public Health wants to move out of its current facilities on County Road 140. The agency’s board approved having a lawyer draft a letter of intent to send to the owner of a property the board would like to buy. The board didn’t say where that property is during their Thursday meeting.
The board plans to research the issue further before making an offer.

The deadline for voting in the May Primary is coming up soon. The deadline is April 9 with the primary being on May 8. You can register at the Hancock County Board of Elections while will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on April 9.
You can also register the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, the Findlay and Fostoria license bureaus, and the treasurer and auditor offices in the Hancock County Courthouse to name a few.
You can check your voter registration online at hancockboardofelections.com. There you can also change your address.
