Students at Findlay’s Bigelow Hill Intermediate School took part in an event aimed at raising conversation skills and professionalism on Thursday. The Courier reports fourth and fifth-grade students participated in the “Big Shake” competition. Judges rate the students on things like handshakes, eye contact, and body language.
Judges include Findlay City Schools administrators, business people, and elected officials. Students had to tell judges why they deserved to move on to the next round of the competition. Fire Captain Jerry Greer says explaining why they should advance in a confident and humble way is an important skill to learn.
10 students will advance a group interview with Cooper Tire executives next week.
