The cost of renovating the Seneca County Annex Building could be higher than initial estimates showed. The Review-Times reports County Commissioner Mike Kerschner announced last week that a revised estimate for the work came in at around $648,000. That’s up from last year’s $417,000 figure. Kerschner said none of the increases were a result of requests from Probate and Juvenile Court Judge Jay Meyer.
On Tuesday Commissioner Shayne Thomas said the $500,000 set aside for the project two years ago was never meant as a final figure for the project. He said they won’t have a final budget figure until the engineers give an estimate after the county makes a decision on all aspects of the project.
Much of the price increase comes as a result of switching to energy efficient LED lights in the building.
