The Third Ward council seat in Fostoria is vacant, and there’s a possibility it could stay that way. The Review-Times reports Jon Hay vacated the position on December 31 to focus on his position as the director of St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
Hay announced his resignation well before stepping down. Mayor Eric Keckler has looked for someone to replace Hay but hasn’t been successful. So far, no one has shown any interest in the council seat. City Law Director Tim Hoover says if no one applies to finish the term, the seat could stay empty.
Anyone interested in filling the vacancy must be 18 years of age or older, be a registered voter and live in the city’s Third Ward.
