Findlay Police investigated a the damaging of three headstones in a Findlay cemetery Tuesday. A witness that regularly walks the Maple Grove Cemetery noticed the damage near the entrance of the cemetery. There were tire tracks in the grass going over the top of three headstones. The headstones were knocked off their bases. Two were several feet from their original location and the third was about a foot away. They belong to Lawrence Moore, Charles Lucas, and an unidentified Lucas family member.
Police believe a vehicle took the corner too wide and went over a bush, hitting the memorials. They add that the vehicle likely has front-end damage. Lt. Robert Ring said that this appears to be an accident and not intentional.
