The Findlay Police Department is a step closer to providing another level of help to overdose survivors. Century Health reports the police department has received a grant from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office to form a “quick response team.”
The agency says a quick response team will visit a survivor within 72 hours of an overdose. They’ll offer education and referrals to drug treatment agencies for assessment. The process also includes information about detoxification, ongoing addiction treatment, and aftercare. Hancock Public Health will also visit to offer further education and provide Naloxone.
The quick response team will have one city police officer and a quick response team coordinator from Century Health.
Century Health did not say how much the grant was for.
