The Hancock County Agricultural Society presented plans for a slightly scaled back version of a new building at the fairgrounds to the Findlay City Planning Commission Thursday. The new plan calls for a 15,000 square foot facility on the north side of the fairgrounds. The original plans called for a nearly 17,000 square foot building. Agricultural Society operations manager Dave Thomas tells the Courier budget concerns prompted the change.
The building will still host receptions, shows, and seminars. The new plan does away with a covered porch.
Construction should start after this year’s Hancock County Fair.
