New details are coming out following the death of a former Kenton High School football player at Kent State earlier this summer. CBS Sports reports the school can’t produce the professional certification required by the NCAA for the head football strength coach. Ross Bowsher was overseeing conditioning drills the day Tyler Heintz died.
Failure to have a certified strength coach would violate NCAA bylaws. CBS Sports also reports two of the nation’s largest strength and conditioning organizations couldn’t find certification for Bowsher.
Heintz suffered from hyperthermia during a practice this summer.
