The First Citizens National Bank location in Wharton is closing its doors, but the building won’t be empty long. The company recently announced it was closing the branch and donating the building to the First Church of God in the village. A letter from CEO Robert McClure to customers said, “it is not economically feasible to maintain the Wharton location.”
The company says the Dunkirk branch will remain open with expanded hours to help customers. The bank is transferring accounts in Wharton to the main office in Upper Sandusky. There is also a branch in Carey.
