5/22/17 – 6:52 A.M.

A two-car crash injured an Ada woman in Findlay Sunday afternoon. The Findlay Police Department reports the collision happened in the 1400 block of Tiffin Avenue around 4:45 p.m.

34-year-old Bradley Drexler of Wapakoneta was driving his pickup truck west when he hit the back of a car driven by 20-year-old Brianna Miller. Miller had stopped for traffic.

Hanco Ambulance took Miller to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Officers cited Drexler for failure to stop in the assured clear distance ahead.

5/22/17 – 6:44 A.M.

A medical problem resulted in a two-car crash in Rawson Sunday night. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports the incident happened at 153 Powell Lane around 7:15 p.m.

44-year-old Tinika Boyken was driving west when she suffered a medical problem and hit a parked car. Boyken’s car ended up hitting a porch at the Powell Lane home before it stopped.

Hanco Ambulance took Boyken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

5/22/17 – 5:32 A.M.

A pair of bridges in Hancock County remain closed this week. ODOT says crews continue to work on a bridge over the Moffitt Ditch on State Route 12 west of Benton Ridge. The exit ramp from State Route 15 to U.S. 68 south of Findlay is also closed for bridge repair.

Elsewhere State Route 12 between Western Avenue and Glessner Street in Findlay remains closed during daytime hours through early June. Crews are repairing curbs in the area.

5/22/17 – 5:18 A.M.

A one-car crash took the life of a Fostoria teen in Hancock County Sunday afternoon. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports the incident happened on Marion Township Road 205, east of State Route 37 around 2:30 p.m.

17-year-old Tesslyne Terell was riding in a car driven by 20-year-old Amber King of Findlay when King lost control on a curve in the road. Her car went off the right side of the road and hit a fence.

Terell died at the scene of the crash. Hanco Ambulance took King to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

A release from the Sheriff’s Office didn’t specify any citations at this point.

5/22/17 – 5:10 A.M.

Ottawa residents did their part to clean up an area near the Blanchard River over the weekend. The Lima News reports volunteers teamed up with the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership to clear a stretch of the river’s bank near the west side of Ottawa.

The group planned to remove trash along the river, but ended up clearing overgrown areas after Friday night’s heavy rains.

Village councilman Tim Macke told the newspaper, “we’re just hitting a little percentage of what needs to be done.” He added that the area needs more widespread use of things like cover crops to protect the river’s water quality.

Findlay will continue to flush fire hydrants next week. The Water Distribution Department announced the hydrants being flushed for Monday. The work will be done from McManness Ave east to County Road 236 and from Tiffin Avenue north to Fostoria Avenue.
