Templin says after the merger completes, Marathon will grow from 1.9 billion barrels of crude capacity to 3 billion. It also means Marathon will have 16 total plants. Andeavor’s midstream business will increase Marathon’s pipeline mileage by around 50 percent. Marathon is also growing its number of terminals by around 30 percent.

The deal will increase the number of Marathon-branded gas stations to around 8,000. That’s up from the current 5,600 Marathon gas stations. The number of Speedway stations will grow from 2,800 to 4,000 stores.

Templin spoke at the Findlay Rotary Club this afternoon.
